The New Moon in Cancer will occur at 4:54 am Eastern (9:54 am GMT) July 1, 2011, at 9 degrees of Cancer. New moons signify a new cycle, new beginnings, and rebirth. This New Moon, along with the Sun (also in Cancer) will highlight the watery Cancer qualities of imagination and dreams, as well as fourth house themes of family and home. While this eclipse is only a partial eclipse, it does pack a punch, as it forms a cardinal Grand Cross with Saturn, Pluto and Uranus. There is also extra energy due to the fact that Cancer is ruled natively by the Moon.
The previous two eclipses (the June 1 Gemini New Moon/partial solar eclipse and the June 15 Full Moon in Sagittarius/lunar eclipse) have encouraged us to broaden our horizons and seek new opportunities, breaking free from whatever was holding us back in the past. This eclipse (the last of the season) and New Moon put an end to our dreaming and personal expansion and call us to put into action what we’ve discovered with the past two eclipses; after all, New Moons are a time for new beginnings.
I think you mean July 1 in the first sentence
I think you mean July. not June… 🙂

“forms a cardinal Grand Cross with Saturn, Pluto and Uranus”
Sounds like all this could also be the trigger point for scary looking stuff to happen on the world stage!?! But isn’t Uranus the ‘magickian’? Maybe new and unexpected ‘visions’ and ‘ideas’ will appear? Fingers crossed our strange friend uranus turns into Gandalf!
P.S. as you can tell I’m not really much of an astrologer 🙂
@Vivian and @Robbie–yes, I did mean July 🙂 Thanks for catching that!
