Spell: Chaos of Set Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Indigo
Incense of the day: Pine

Today is the birthday of Set, the Egyptian god of chaos and of destruction. Set rules over the red desert land, the borderlands, and the extension of existence. He sometimes appears as a fennec, the huge-eared Egyptian fox, in keeping with the tricksters and troublesome gods of other pantheons. This clever animal can survive in the worst terrain-just like Set. This time of year hovers between summer and fall. It's a good time to get rid of things you don't need. On papyrus paper, write something you want to banish from your life. Then go to a borderland away from open water, and say:

Clever fox, red fox
Hear me as I pray.
Little fox, swift fox
Take this thing away!
Run to your master
Set, merry and grim.
Lord of destruction –
I give it to him.

Wad up the papyrus, throw it over your shoulder, and walk away without looking back.
