Jade is revered as a sacred and auspicious stone in China. In the ancient dynasties, jade ornaments were coveted by emperors, empresses, princes, princesses, high-ranking officials, the nobility, and other wealthy families. Art objects, hair accessories and adorn-ments, musical instruments, and various other items were fashioned from jade and were often used during important or auspicious rituals and events. Signatures were engraved on jade, and red ink was applied to use as a seal for decrees of command. Altars of the time were also intricately carved from jade, as were images of Buddha in various forms, and other Chinese deities such as Quan Yin, the goddess of mercy. In engagement ceremonies, ladies presented a gift of jade to fiances. Before the wedding, grooms gave future brides a piece of valuable jade as a gesture of promised upcoming nuptials. As a stone that possesses numerous qualities, jade continues to be utilized in modern times as a status symbol or in assorted magical rituals. Singles wishing to attract love can wear a jade butterfly pendant against the skin. Such an item can be gifted to one who takes your fancy in hope of reciprocation. If you are already in a relationship, the exchange of jade pendants between partners symbolizes long-term togetherness, harmony, and loyalty. In healing rituals, consecrate and wear a jade pendant or bangle to facilitate speedy recovery and physical regeneration. The Chinese also wear jade for prosperity, longevity, and good health. It is also worn for protective purposes and general good luck in all endeavors. You can enhance positive feng shui, tranquility, and harmony in the home by installing
a jade Buddha. This generally assists with meditation and reducing stress levels. Light sandalwood incense and candles in front of the Buddha. Make regular offerings of fruit and flowers. Eventually the blessings received will go from good to excellent!
