Deep in the earth is the eternal stirring. In the darkness of soil, a brave quickening begins. We're still in the deep clutches of winter, but it's time to plant seeds of new life.
Take a sheet of paper and a pen. Cast a circle, and in sacred space ask: What newness do I welcome? What seeds do I plant? What new life shall I grow? Let dreams, wishes, and inspiration for the coming "sprouting" be heard and recorded. Now fold the paper in quarters, thanking the directions and opening sacred space. Place the paper in an empty can and go outdoors. Hold the can in mitten-covered hands, light the paper on fire, and walk-down the block, lane, or steps. Say: "Smoke, take my newness and plant these seeds. Fertility, creativity, and new life come to me." |
