Today is the Catholic feast day of Saint Benedict the Moor, or Saint Benedict the Black. The child of slaves from Ethiopia who were living in Sicily, he gained his freedom at eighteen and went on to perform many miracles, including healing the sick. He was also a natural clairvoyant and claircognizant and was said to enjoy cooking.
Light a white candle to Saint Benedict today and offer him a snifter or small bottle of brandy. If you'd like, place these near a small picture of him and/or an image of a flaming heart. Request that he support you in initiating or deepening your intuitive and healing abilities. If protection from infectious diseases is a magical intention of yours, you might petition him for this purpose as well. Additionally, he can be petitioned for the promotion of social justice and racial equality as well as the eradication of slavery. |
