Spell: House Blessing

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Your home—whether it is a house, an apartment, or even just a room—is where your heart is. It is the center of your existence, and it is important that you feel safe and secure when you are in it. Once a year, or more often if you live someplace that feels vulnerable, it is a good idea to do a house blessing. This is a nice way to reinforce any protection work you might have done and to ask for the gods to watch over you.

Light a sage smudge stick and hold it in front of you. First turn to the east, then the south, west, and north, asking each associated element (air, fire, water, and earth) to bless and protect your home. Then hold up the smudge stick and ask the God and Goddess to bless and protect your home. If you like, walk through each room with the smudge stick before putting it out safely. Watch out for stray sparks and stamp them out if you see them.
