Three of Wands
In the Root position
Three of Wands
This card represents the root of the matter; what has gone before, and is directly related to the current situation. Check to see how the energies of this card blend with the other six cards; remember that it moves with each mystery in a different way.

Meaning: When the Three of Wands turns up in a reading, it illustrates a time of expectation. The querent may be waiting for news about a project or proposal. The overall theme of this card is optimism and active waiting. It shows the beginning of a project and the hope that comes from making plans for a new career or life. Remember that things are always in motion-nothing is at rest, and change is constant. The Three of Wands usually represents the person receiving the reading. This card may also be nudging you towards taking on more of a leadership role at work or in your coven. This is a time of expansion and growth. This is a positive and exciting card full of motion and action. Spells that were cast will happily manifest now. The Empress
In the Magick position
The Empress
Here are indicated the energies of the second mystery of magick in the life of the querent. This card shows how we use our gifts, talents, skills, intuition, and psychism; and, in particular, how these gifts should or should not be used at this time. If the querent practices the occult sciences, some indication of that may be found here, if it bears relevance on the question posed.

Meaning: This is the motherhood, fertility, and power-of-nature card. When this card appears in a reading, it is a message from the Mother Goddess to respect the force and power of nature and the body's ability to reproduce. If the Empress card appears in a reading along with the Ace of Wands or the Ace of Cups, then it symbolizes pregnancy or that conception may be likely at this time. This card can also indicate an opportunity to bring new, creative ideas into the world. Protect and cherish the loving relationships in your life. Focus on your family and your home, and enjoy the energy and excitement your children bring into your life. "Birth" your new ideas. Embrace creativity and your own sexuality, and work joyously and respectfully with the powers of nature.

Keywords: The Mother aspect of the Goddess. Bringing new ideas into existence. Feminine power, love, sexuality, motherhood. Fertility, birth, creativity. Hearth and home, protecting love in your life, full moon magick. The power of nature.

The Magician
In the Oath position
The Magician
This card brings forth the energies of the third mystery of one's oath in the life of the querent; showing what the querent, up to this point, has dedicated his or her life to, what his or her principles are, and how he or she operates according to those values. It may show you what is most important to the querent at this time.

Meaning: When this card appears in a reading, it is a message to tap into your own magick to find the answers you seek. Work in balance with the elements and the powers of nature to create your magick and bring about positive change. Magick is all around you, and it is everywhere in the natural world...the Magician challenges you to seek it out. Connect to this elemental energy and tap into its powers. Be confident and look within as well as without.

This particular Major Arcana card is a lesson in the Hermetic Principle of Correspondence, which teaches us that "As above, so below; as within, so without." We do exist on all planes-on the astral/spiritual, the energetic, and the physical. The Magician urges you to choose the most harmonious tools and natural accessories for your magick. Use the laws of correspondence and all of the resources that you have at your disposal wisely.

Keywords: As above, so below. Skill, determination, connection, confidence. Strength of will. Working magick with the four elements and the elemental spirits. The Hermetic Principle of Correspondence. Elemental magick and personal power.

Seven of Cups
In the Karma position
Seven of Cups
The effects of the fourth mystery of karma or Wyrd in the life of the querent are apparent in this card. It can tell you if the person is working toward good karma, or not so good. Physical birth or death, both of issues and people, may fall here, depending on the question. Indications of past and present actions can assist you in answering the question posed. Financial and mental stability are also reflected in this card.

Meaning: Many wonderful choices lie before you. This is the card of precognitive dreams, symbols, and signs. Take a moment and choose one of the seven cups; now read along and see what it tells you about yourself. The red dragon represents the power of transformation and the element of fire; what sort of passion and power can you manifest in your world? The black kitten grants you the opportunity to work more closely with the animal kingdom and to find your own magickal familiar. The third cup's fairy-tale castle offers you the chance of stability, comfort, and the magick of hearth and home. The fourth cup shows you a rainbow-time to work on your communication skills and see what messages await you on Iris's magickal rainbow from the Temperance card. The fifth card holds jewels and gold coins, inviting you to dig in and work magick with the element of earth; focus on crystals, stones, minerals, and metals. The sixth card has a tiny mermaid who invites you deeper into the realm of the element of water; embrace your psychic gifts and emotions and see where they lead you. The final cup with the butterfly beckons you to the element of air. Sharpen your intellect, hone your instincts, and pay attention to your intuition. What sort of new knowledge will the element of air blow into your world?

Keywords: Choice. Many wonderful options lie before you-choose one of these cups and their lessons for yourself.

Ten of Swords
In the Wisdom position
Ten of Swords
This card indicates the fifth mystery of wisdom, power, and lineage in the life of the querent. Here you will be able to discover whether or not the querent has used wise counsel, directs his or her power wisely, and how he or she is responding to his or her life's plan. The card can also tell you from what source the querent should draw to assist in the issue at hand.

Meaning: When the Ten of Swords rolls into a reading, you have to ask yourself, "Why did you not listen to your own instincts?" This card is a vivid illustration of being stabbed in the back. This shows betrayal from a loved one, friend, or coven member. This is what happens when you ignore your inner voice and gut hunches that something is wrong. By ignoring the warning signs and not paying heed to your own instincts that trouble was brewing, you have paid the price. This card can also symbolize being involved with a toxic group of people, such as in a job environment or even in a coven where you are not cherished but instead made to feel like an outsider. If your instincts are warning you that you don't belong, then you need to be wise, like the owl, and fly away from the group and all of their negativity.

Keywords: A coven where you do not feel accepted or cherished. A toxic group of people. Betrayal, being stabbed in the back, ignoring your instincts.

Three of Swords
In the Outcome position
Three of Swords
The final card shows overall advice and counsel on the question asked.

Meaning: When the Three of Swords is dealt in a reading, it causes a visceral reaction. This is a brutally tough card; there is no polite or soft way to put it. When the Three of Swords turns up in a reading, it is like a sucker punch to the stomach. It hurts. This card, more than any other, illustrates the pain and loss that the querent is experiencing at this time. What you need to understand is that you will have to take the pain into your heart, accept it, shed your tears, and then move beyond it. Once you have accepted the pain and experienced the grief, then-and only then-can you move forward. This card may also stand for a delay to a project and plans or the painful karmic repercussions that are experienced when a manipulative spell backfires on the caster.

Keywords: Delay, personal betrayal, loss. A time of drama and tears. Sadness, conflict. A spell that has backfired.
