2.  Divination by observation of atmospheric phenomena—clouds, winds, storms, etc.—as well as sometimes related phenomena such as items carried by wind and rain including birds in flight. In response to a yes/no question, winds that rise and blow to the north or west are favorable, those to the east and south unfavorable. If no wind rises within nine minutes of the asking, no answer is available. Whirlwinds and dust devils are unfavorable answers. Also cloud gazing in answer to a question that involves perceiving images and symbols, and interpreting their seeming messages.
