POSTED UNDER Moon, Protection

Four Elements Spell

Color of the day:  Blue
Incense of the day:  Patchouli

This is the final day of Cerialia, the Greek festival held to honor the virgin goddess, Artemis. Artemis is the goddess of animals and the hunt, and in her earliest images she is depicted with an animal on each side. This image is known as the Mistress of the Animals. In Rome, Artemis was identified with Diana. The root of Diana's name is Ana, an ancient goddess name related to the Latin word anima, which means "soul" and which is the root of the word "animal." Artemis is also the goddess of the Moon, and she is said to be the protector of women. All should honor her on this day by wear-ing silver jewelry that depicts her in some way-either as a stag, a hound, through her bow, or the Moon. It is especially important for any women who are going through a major life change, such as marriage, pregnancy, or a change of career, to honor and draw on the protection of Artemis and Diana.
