This is an easy way to cast a circle in a small or medium-sized group. Once everyone is standing or sitting in a circle, start by holding out your hand to the person on your left, and saying:

Hand to hand, the circle is cast.
The person on your left should take your hand in his or her right hand, then hold out his or her left hand to the person on their left, and repeat:

Hand to hand, the circle is cast.
This continues around the circle until it returns to you. When the circle is complete, all should say:

Hand to hand, the circle is cast,
May it hold fast.
