A Walk in the Snow

Color of the day:  Orange
Incense of the day:  Poplar

This is the season of snowstorms, of blustery winds and blizzards and arctic chill. Many of us need to come to terms with the cold and deathly silence of this season. To do so, take a walk in the snow. In actuality, few things are better for the soul, and the body, than a walk outside in a winter wonderland. There's something wonderfully contemplative about the sights and sounds of a world covered in snow. During a light snow storm is a particularly good time to discover the outdoor. When you walk, make sure you are bundled up as warmly as possible-with the whole works: mittens, hat, down parka, and so on-so you can take your time and simply meander. Meanwhile, listen to the sounds of winter as well as to all the inconsequential chatter in your head that you usually ignore. This walk isn't about how fast you get there, but how much you enjoy getting there. After your walk, head indoors for some hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows floating on top like a soft
snowbank.
