Touch the Earth Ritual

As the fields of August begin to bring forth the bounty provided for us by the Goddess, it is now time to get in touch-literally-with the Earth. At sunset, respectfully approach a newly harvested field, and speak these words:

You, who have nurtured our sacred seed,
and fulfill our every need.
You, who have are known as Demeter and Ishtar,
who follow the seasons
by Sun and Moon and star.
You, whom we call Mother Earth,
please accept my deepest thanks.

Now, kneel forward until your forehead and palms touch the ground. Feel the life–force, and accept this power even as your own energy sinks deep into the soil. During this ritual, cast no spell, nor ask for anything. Simply touch the Earth, and give thanks.
