Color of the day: Pink Incense of the day: Nutmeg Incense of the day: Nutmeg In this day and age, many people say they "don't have time" to write holiday cards. But is this really true? It doesn't take much to reconnect with friends and acquaintances during the holiday season. I believe maintaining and strengthening the connection at this time of year is part of the rebirth of the light, and this rebirth is what the Yuletide season is all about. Sure, sometimes it's difficult to find time to sit down and write the cards and notes. But it can be made easier if you make a ritual out of this task. For instance, buy boxes of cards all year round, and stock up on stamps. Make sure you have plenty of pens in whatever colors you like. Go through your Rolodex and make a list of people you plan to send cards. Over a period of several days, set aside one or two hours a day to begin working on this task. Gather your materials together, and cast a circle. Bless the cards, asking that your words be those of truth and joy, reflecting the spirit of the season. And write. When you are finished writing, leave the stack of stamped cards on your altar overnight. Charge the cards with positive energy before you send them out into the world. When you receive cards, fasten them to ribbons and hang them around the doorways of your home. They will give you joy every time you look at them, and you will appreciate the wonderful people in your life. |
