In the Hellenic tradition, today is the Festival of Artemis. This independent and sharp-tempered goddess champions the forest and its wildlife. Honor her by doing her work today. Fill a bird feeder, and leave some corn on the ground for squirrels and other critters. Sit down with your favorite nursery catalog and order some plants that provide food or shelter for wildlife. Donate to a conservation organization. To win Diana's favor, light a silver candle in a moon-motif candleholder on your altar
and recite this invocation:

Maiden of the silver bow,
Mistress where no men may go,
Heed your servant here below.
See the work that I have done
By the light of Moon and Sun:
Simple things, but well begun.
Grant your blessings in exchange
