The Greek goddess Persephone is the mistress of keys, especially the keys to the underworld. Just as an iron key may unlock the door of a house, a computer keyboard unlocks the doors of cyberspace. So by extension, the mistress of keys also becomes the mistress of keyboards. Persephone guards all passages into numinous realms. To protect your keyboard and computer from mishap, simply invoke Persephone. First, touch two traditional iron keys to your keyboard, saying: "Like calls to like." Place the keys on your altar and light some myrrh incense. Tie a black ribbon to the keys, and say:

Hail, Persephone,
Keeper of keys!
Heed my magic and hearken my pleas.
Grant your protection over all these.

Leaving the keys attached to the black ribbon, hang them in a safe place within sight of your keyboard.
