Gingerbread Cake 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ground ginger 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 stick butter, melted 1/2 cup dark molasses 1 egg 1/2 cup water In a bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, baking powder, and baking soda. When mixed, add the butter, molasses, egg, and water. Using an electric mixer, beat on medium speed until everything is well combined. Beat on high speed for another two minutes. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan, and bake in a 350-degree oven for forty minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for ten minutes before serving. Serve it with either vanilla bean ice cream or whipped cream for an extra yummy treat. |
