Before each sweat lodge, a friend of ours leads us all through this incredible exercise. Use it before meditation, bedtime, or anytime you wish. Imagine that the Goddess fills the sky. Her hair glistens under the light of the Sun or Moon. She pulls a single strand of hair from her head and weaves a beautiful basket from it. She calls upon the spirits and the gods to place their blessings into the basket. Then she slowly lowers it down until it hangs just before you. She tells you to place your burdens into the basket and to take a blessing from it. Place your worries, stresses, and uncomfortable feelings into the basket. Thank her for relieving you of these things and ask that they be transformed. Then take a blessing from the basket. Hold the blessing to your heart and accept it respectfully.
