New Home Blessing

When you move into a new home, it is a good time to welcome Hestia to your hearth. This spell is best done when your home is empty, but even if you moved in a while ago, this simple ritual will ignite her presence. In the "heart"of your home, take a broom and start to sweep, moving in a clockwise direction. Sweep around the area three times, chanting:
Hestia of the
Hearth and home,
Bless this space
I call my own.
Make my household
Trouble free,
Dearest Hestia,
Make it be.
Now brush the dust outside and bring in a table or chair to use as an altar. Place fresh flowers and baked goods on your altar. Sprinkle salt in each corner of the room in a clockwise direction (this keeps the negative spirits away). Open the windows and let the sunshine in.
