They also love gifts and goodies. If you wish to attract the assistance of the fairy folk, plan to take your magical workings to the nearby woods. In addition to your magical tools, take a small plate and cup, a silver- or gold-colored coin (not copper), a small purple or blue birthday caketype candle, seven pretty cookies, and some fine sparkling cider or juice. Walk about until you locate a fairy circle. Arrange the cookies neatly on the plate and pour the cider in the cup. Place these items in the center of the fairy circle. Next to them, place the coin and light the candle, fixing it upon the coin with a few drops of wax. Leave the circle and do your magical working just outside its borders, then go on your way. When you return the next day, if the plate and cup are empty and the coin is gone, the fairies have accepted your entreaty and joined in your magic. |
