Enriched Recycling

Compost is made of decayed organic matter. By making your own compost, you can enrich your garden, lawn, or houseplants. It also gets rid of biodegradable kitchen and yard waste. To make a compost pile, alternate layers of "wet/green" and "dry/brown" materials. Green: grass clippings, overripe fruit, vegetable peels, etc. Brown: dead leaves, twigs, wood chips, shredded paper, etc. Water the pile to the consistency of a damp sponge. Encourage your compost pile to decay efficiently by using magic. Walk three times widdershins (counterclockwise) around the pile. With each circuit, chant:
Green and brown
Death and birth
Rot it down
Into earth
Visualize the beneficial power of decay breaking down the material into crumbly black compost. Every two weeks, turn the pile with a shovel and repeat the chant. By the end of the summer your compost should be ready to use.
