Take a Timeout

Color of the day:  Maroon
Incense of the day:  Ginger

In 1582, when the Georgian calendar was implemented, this day did not exist. The ancient Celts, in order to balance their way of reckoning the year, had a day that was "time out of time." Even now, every four years, and every year that ends in "00," we have a day that occurs at no other time, and keeps our calendar on track. It may be that, sometimes, everybody needs a little time out of time. Can you take a little time today to disappear, to retreat and hide away? Even if you slip out for just an hour, or turn off the phone and lock the door, enter that time with the intent to be without attachment, obligation, or meaning. Try burning a black candle to invoke the peace of the void. When you return, observe how your time out of time helped you to feel refreshed and reset.
