LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Midvintersblot

Color of the day:  Rose
Incense of the day:  Alder

The ancient Norse people celebrated Midvintersblot on January 13. Offerings were made to Tiw (also called Tyr, Zui, and Tuiz), a god of war and law-giving. From Tiw, we get the rune Tyr, which looks like an up-pointed arrow and symbolizes order, justice, and triumph. On this day, let's take a few minutes to think about the things that you consider worth fighting for, and then do a spell for justice.
Draw the rune on a piece of paper, or pull it out of your rune set if you have one. Concentrate on the symbol for a minute, and then say the following:

Mighty Tyr, so strong and tue
Grant me justice that I am due
Keep me strong so I might fight
For all that's good, and kind, and right.
