Walking the Bounds

Walking your home's "bounds" is a powerful way to purify and protect that space.
Circumnavigate your property three times, walking deosil (sun-wise) along the perimeter.
On the first circuit, speak aloud to the house and grounds, reminding them of special or sacred times you have experienced there and offering your thanks for the protection and beneficence shown.
As you walk, take note of anything in need of repair, and promise the house that you will make the needed repairs.
On the second circuit, carry a lighted candle or smudge. Pass the candle or smudge over the ground, repeating, "I bless the bounds with energies of Air and Fire."
On the third and final circuit, carry a cup of salt water and sprinkle it over the perimeter, repeating, "I bless the bounds with energies of Earth and Water."
When finished, repeat these words of protection: nil sine numini: "Nothing without providence."
