POSTED UNDER Moon

St. Anselm's Day

Color of the day:  Amber
Incense of the day:  Marigold

The writings of St. Anselm of Canterbury, while not always popular among "the powers that were" during his lifetime, are philosophically relevant to this day. In fact, he formulated what's known as "the ontological argument," debatably the most respected and logically sound argument in favor of the existence of a divine being. So, with the moon in Mercury-ruled and detail oriented Virgo, this is a great time to perform a ritual for honing your powers of reason and persuasion so you can organize and articulate your thoughts in an ideal way. (This is helpful for things like debates, speeches, writing assignments, and philosophy tests.)
Anoint a yellow candle with essential oil of rosemary (or place fresh rosemary sprigs around its base). Light the candle and say:

"St. Anselm, please help me to think clearly, to speak effectively, and to see deeply into the inner workings of the universe. Thank you."
