New Year’s Spell
To ensure that the New Year is full of prosperity and good health, dye an egg bright red and paint pictures of dragons on it. Dragons are popular images of good luck during the Chinese New Year celebration. Soak the egg overnight in a mixture of milk and honey. At dawn on the second day of the New Year, take the egg and bury it near an entrance to your home. As you cover the egg with earth say:
Egg so red, with dragon's might, Bless this year with health and light; Bountiful joy you bring to me, As I will, so mote it be! |
