In classical Rome, today was the Rosalia, a festival celebrating goddesses of love. Venus was not always the great sex goddess. In early Rome, she was a domestic goddess who brought happiness to husbands and wives. She ruled kitchen gardens and happy homes long before she sponsored orgies and the romances of kings and queens. Celebrate the Rosalia today with an old-fashioned spell to find out who your next loved one might be.
Gather three rose petals or leaves, and assign the name of a potential love candidate to each one. Write their names on the petals with rose essential oil. As you do this, think about a possible future with each person. Promise unconditional love and friendship to all three. Set the named petals on your altar near a pink candle, light the candle, and invoke Venus. It's said that the rose petal that lasts the longest names your mate.
