Celebration for San Pedro (Saint Peter)

Color of the day:  Lavender
Incense of the day:  Narcissus

Every year on this date, the town of Haro, Spain, celebrates with a wine festival in honor of the patron saint San Pedro. Celebrants wear white shirts and red scarves. The main event of the day is the Battle of Wine, in which everyone throws red wine at one another until the crowd is filled with pink shirts. After all are soaked, the day continues with food and (of course!) wine, and various contests and competitions.
Even if you are not a wine drinker, this is a good day to celebrate the good life. Place dark red and purple candles on your altar. Add a picture of your favorite god or goddess of the fruit of the vine. Wear a red scarf, tie, socks, or piece of jewelry. Include grapes or grape juice with your meals, and wine (or juice) with your cakes and ale after casting. Express gratitude for all the blessings of your life before you retire.
