POSTED UNDER Moon, Prayer, Sun

Spirit Beads

Color of the day:  Orange
Incense of the day:  Juniper

Many traditions use some sort of bead string to guide prayer or meditation, and you can do the same. You'll need a cord in a chosen color, or just use black. You'll also need a set of beads, buttons, or small items for stringing. Consider the purpose of your prayer or meditation as well as the color, shape, number, and meaning of each item.

Lay out your beads and string on a surface and work with them until you have a pleasing arrangement. Now begin stringing. Use figure-eight knots between each item. The figure eight is continuous, allowing energy to flow through the string, and its shape suggests eternity.

Finish the string with more permanent square knots. Holding the string in your hands, say:

"One bead, two bead, New lessons, I heed."

Keep the beads close for the next week, and charge them under the sun and/or moon as desired. Use them thereafter when you pray, meditate, or work ritual.
