Harvesting Summer

Color of the day:  Indigo
Incense of the day:  Rue

Summer is fleeting, with just a few weekends of warmth left. Where I live, many of the lakes don't warm up enough to swim in until mid-July.

Take today to fully enjoy the delicious warmth of sun and water, harvesting their warmth. Get thee to a lake, pool, pond, river, or stream. Spend your day picnicking, playing, snoozing, reading, and relaxing by the water, in the sun. Slather on sunscreen and practice reverential sunbathing. Breathe deeply, inhaling the radiant energy. Envision your body filling with glimmering white magical light. Exhale and feel your cells hum. For adequate vitamin D production, we need only ten minutes of direct sunlight on each side of the body. When you finish the front, flip over. Then go and swim. Practice the same technique, harvesting energy from the water. In seasons to come, you can tap into this energy. Close your eyes and envision the radiance of the harvested summer stored inside.
