POSTED UNDER Spring, Winter

A Winter Nap

Color of the day:  Turquoise
Incense of the day:  Mulberry

We're in the deepest, darkest days of winter now, and across most of the land our furry, feathery, finny, and leafy cousins are asleep and building up the energy they'll need when they awaken in the spring. A long winter nap is good for us, too. See if you can fit a nap into your schedule today.

Visualize yourself in a cozy place underground, a barrow or acave. Look around. Who is sharing the space with you? Greet the hibernating animals and wish them well, and do the same with any roots you see hanging down. Now watch as gnomes and dwarves and others who specialize in things northerly and wintery enter the space. Their leader is Sylvanus, elder god of forests and plains. Greet these ancient guardians of the land and ask what you can do to help them tend the land. Vow to work with them all through the year.
