LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Pressing Flowers

Color of the day:  Lavender
Incense of the day:  Neroli

Collect flower petals to save for use in future rituals and for decorating your magical journals. If you use cut flowers as altar decorations, this is a great way to preserve some of that energy for later use.

To press flowers, you need only a few pieces of white paper or paper towels and the largest, heaviest book you can find. On a piece of paper or paper towel, lay the petals you wish to press. Do not allow them to touch or overlap. When they are all arranged, put a second sheet on top of them, sandwiching them. The paper will absorb the plant fluids over time. Place the whole thing between the central pages of the book. You may place other heavy items on top of the book. Allow to sit for several days. When the petals are dry and flattened, they can be inserted or glued into your book of shadows or used in other magical work.
