Heat In, Cold Out

Color of the day:  Brown
Incense of the day:  Lilac

Spring is a season of sniffles and chills. After the long winter, everyone wants to run outside as soon as the weather warms, even if it’s nippy and raining. Some people can’t wait to start gardening, no matter how dank and soggy the ground is. That often leads to a lot of folks catching cold.

For this healing spell, brew a cup of hot tea. Echinacea boosts the immune system but lacks a pleasing taste. Add lemon (for vitamin C), peppermint (to soothe coughing), or ginger (warming) to improve flavor and effects. Hold the cup in your hands. Feel the heat and breathe in the warm steam. Breathe out, saying:

Herbs and water, brewed about,
Heat come in and cold go out!
Strengthen body, bolster will,
Drive away the springtime chill!

Drink the tea, focusing on the healing properties of the herbs. Repeat the verse one last time as you finish the cup.
