Spirit Spring Cleaning

Color of the day:  Black
Incense of the day:  Magnolia

The circle shape is a magical symbol we can call upon. The magic circle is the protective circle we draw when performing a ritual, casting a spell, or sending healing, because a circle represents both spirit and matter.

Our ancestors built houses that were not square but round, because this provided more protection from the elements. A circular design is both flexible and strong, and is safer in severe weather conditions. The circle is also found in nature, from stones and the ovoid shape of eggs to the earth itself. Places like Stonehenge, Avebury, and Newgrange are some of the oldest monuments in the world and have stood the test of time. To the ancients, magic was a part of their lives, and the magic of a circle was a powerful force.

Cleanse your home now and free the spirit of winter or summer (depending on which hemisphere you live in), allowing for the next season’s energy to enter. Cleanse and create your own protective space by spraying magic holy water made by adding one tablespoon of salt and two drops of spikenard essential oil to a spray bottle of water.

Go from room to room spraying the water, creating a circle in each room. Imagine you have a golden white light around you as you say these words:

Cleansed and cleaned within this space,
Seasons passing at a pace.
I cast the circle round and round,
Forever protected, safe and sound.
No harm, no negativity, shall pass to me,
For I am safe within my circle round.
