Shell Divination

Color of the day:  White
Incense of the day:  Alder

When you’re struggling to make a decision about something because there are too many possible outcomes, try this shell divination to get some guidance. You can use small seashells or halved walnut shells.

Consider your problem, and think of four different outcomes. Choose a word to sum up each outcome, and paint each word on a shell.

Fill a medium-size bowl with water, and put it where it will not be disturbed by people, nature, or animals. State your issue out loud, and place the shells in the water, curved side down, so they float. Let the shells sit in the water. Whichever one sinks first holds the answer to your question.

Keep in mind that this process can take a day or more depending on the shells you’re using, so don’t forget to check back now and again.
