Magnifying What Works

Color of the day:  White
Incense of the day:  Marjoram

One powerful way to increase good fortune is to take time each day to focus on what is working well in your life. It’s easy to fixate on what we don’t like or are trying to change, but sometimes this can lead to getting mired in a “not-working” mindset where we’re more in tune with what we don’t want and less aware of what we do.

For one week, spend time in the morning or evening writing down three things that are working in your life, and be specific. These can be big or small, such as your car or the public transportation that gets you to work each day or the way you feel when your pet looks at you with their adorable face.

Challenge yourself to do this with something you don’t like. Can you break the situation down and find one to three aspects that are working? This shift in perspective ignites creative problem-solving abilities as we train our focus on pathways, however small, of ease and efficacy rather than on obstructions.
