Universal Understanding Spell

Color of the day:  Maroon
Incense of the day:  Cedar

One of the greatest peace songs of all time is “Universal Soldier.” The writer of this song is Buffy Sainte-Marie, and today is her birthday. Let’s honor her and this song by getting to understand one another better. Sit at your altar and safely light a blue candle. Ground and center, then say:

Peace and understanding
begin with me.
Now I will spread
understanding universally.
Peace and understanding are the key.

Safely extinguish the candle. Begin to act on the words you just said. Here are some ideas. Go to an international cultural fair, and talk to people from different backgrounds and eat different foods. Buy books by authors of ethnicities other than your own. Take time to learn another language. Many colleges offer international coffee hours where you can meet students from other lands, so try attending. Together we can bring about universal understanding.
