Hail and Farewell

Color of the day:  Black
Incense of the day:  Patchouli

Depending on where you live, this is the last day of summer. It's time to say hail and farewell to the season that brings us picnics, butterflies, long lazy afternoons, and warm nights. Although summer may have been fun, many of us can hardly contain our anticipation for the upcoming autumn season. Sometimes we get giddy thinking about it. But before we welcome the season of fall, we need to give summer a proper farewell. For this spell you will need:

  • A yellow candle
  • A fireproof candleholder
  • Your favorite summer food

Light your candle and place your favorite food next to it. Gaze lovingly into the flame. Thank the season of summer for its blessings. Share a piece of your food with the earth. You can allow the candle to safely burn down, or snuff or pinch it out.
