The Roman festival celebrating the lives of children is known as Juvenalia, and it falls on December 25. This year consider using your holiday tree as a talisman for the happiness of a child in your life. Along with your usual decorations, allow the child to help select whimsical items such as pinwheels, action figures, or other items to include on your tree. On colored ribbons write out wishes for the child's future-such as happiness, prosperity, good education, good friends, and so on. As the child attaches each ribbon to the tree have him or her recite:
Blessings of this season come to me,
Let me be all that I can be.
