Candle Love

Color of the day:  Brown
Incense of the day:  Sandalwood

Candle Day is celebrated every year on the first Saturday in December. There are many candle spells available in this book and elsewhere, so I'm not going to give you another one. Instead, here are some ways to share the candle love, especially if you're looking for some fun gift ideas for friends and family.

You can, of course, make your own batch of candles from soy, beeswax, or paraffin if you're up to the task. But if you don't have the time, space, or materials for making candles, here are some ways to take generic store purchased candles to a new level:

  1. Choose a theme and color for the year to come (such as healing, prosperity, love, etc.).
  2. Carve a sigil or symbol that embodies your theme into each candle.
  3. Anoint/dress the candles with an oil or tincture that connects with your theme.
  4. Write up a small explanation of your candle spell on parchment or pretty paper.
  5. Wrap the candles in tissue paper to protect them and place in a fabric bag for gifting.
