Then slowly wind the string around the yo-yo as you think of all the stress and anxiety you're feeling. Wind the string around the yo-yo tightly and notice how your body feels physically when anxiety is at the forefront of your thoughts. Once the yo-yo is wound, hold it against your palm and take some deep breaths. Create in your mind's eye an image of yourself feeling carefree, relaxed, and happy. Observe this image in detail and notice how you feel physically when envisioning this less stressed version of yourself. Now loop the yo-yo string around your finger and let it unwind as you hold this image in your mind. Enjoy some time playing with the toy. If you don't know how to operate a yo-yo, that's okay. Just rewind the string and give it a few tries. Transmuting your stress through play will kick-start a transformation and make it easier to cope with anxiety. |
