Leaves of Gratitude

Color of the day:  Gray
Incense of the day:  Hyssop

Autumn is often a time when we're inspired to reflect on what we have gained and experienced throughout the year. Set aside some time to take a walk on a day when the leaves are falling. As you wander, pick up five or so dried leaves and take them home. Get a jar with a lid, a marker, and a quiet place to think. As you hold a leaf in your hand, remember an instance during the past year when you felt joy. It can be a funny scenario that made you laugh, an achievement, or a person you met. As you hold the leaf, allow yourself to feel the happiness of the memory, and then write a word associated with it on the leaf. Crumple the leaf in your hands or grind with a mortar and pestle. Put the remains in the jar. Repeat this with the remaining leaves, assigning a good memory to each one.

When you are finished, you'll have a jar of crumbled leaves infused with positive feelings. You can add this positive energy mix to incense, include it in spells for peace, or rub some between your fingers when you're feeling down to give yourself a boost.
