Color of the day: Ivory Incense of the day: Clary sage Consecrate a tarot deck using elemental representations, adapting the following pairings to suit your practice: air/swords, water/cups, fire/ wands, earth/pentacles. Choose something to represent each of the four elements. Options include a blade, feather, or incense for air; a chalice, shell, or bowl of water for—you guessed it—water; a wand or candle for fire; and a dish of salt or a stone for earth. For spirit, which corresponds to the major arcana (trump cards), a piece of clear quartz or a selenite tower are great options. Divide your tarot deck into five stacks, one for each suit and the trumps. Arrange the elemental objects on your altar, and place the appropriate tarot stack next to its element. (If using candles, situate them on a heatproof surface and don't leave them unattended.) Allow the elemental objects to awaken your deck, aligning the suits and the trumps with the relevant energies. |
