LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

New Year’s Eve Divination

Color of the day:  Yellow
Incense of the day:  Honeysuckle

It is the end of the old year and the beginning of the new, according to the Gregorian calendar. This is a time when many people conclude projects or recordkeeping with the intent of starting new ones on January 1st. That makes this a powerful time for divination.

This little rite is simply about setting the stage before you begin the divination proper. You will need a quiet place, a cloth or mat, and your favorite divinatory materials. You can use any type of divination tool that you like, such as Tarot cards, Norse runes, or a pendulum. Sit comfortably and quiet your mind. Spread your cloth or mat and set out your divination gear. Then say:

Close of the year,
So bright and clear,
An end is here,
Beginning's near.
Now let me see,
As time swings free,
What was will be
In store for me.

Keep your focus and begin the divination as you usually do.
