LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Broken Needles Festival

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Yellow
Incense of the day: Pine

The Japanese words hari kugo translate to "broken needles." This annual event celebrates creativity in women's crafts. We express our creativity in various ways. Some of us are creative with food, others with fabric and paper, still others through the expression of words and writing. The outcome of our creativity is the sense of achievement we feel when we complete a project. There are times when we need inspiration to move forward with a creative task, whether it is helping a child with a school project, finishing a photo album, designing invitations, or decorating a cake. When a deadline isn't enough to stimulate the inspiration, try this spell. Place basil or lemongrass oil on a handkerchief. Inhale the scent, recall the feeling of accomplishment you felt when you last completed a creative project, and say:
A promise to others
A commitment to me
The outcome is
the reward
Creative completion
it will be
