Spell: Vulcanalia Fire Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Amber
Incense of the day: Juniper

This is the festival of the Roman fire god Vulcan. In the dry heat of summer, the crops and food in the granaries were at greater risk of accidental fire, so bonfires were carefully created to placate Vulcan. Enjoy an outdoor fire tonight to honor Vulcan. Put some wood in the fire pit or in your barbecue grill and grab some iced tea or a glass of wine. Break apart a red taper candle. As you enjoy your fire, toss in a piece of wax occasionally. As you watch the burning wax flare up, say:
Vulcan, lord of fire, accept this offering,
Blessed flame will always have a home with mine and me,
I light this fire for you to dance within the flame,
Keeping fire where it belongs on this your holy day.
Sometime today, check all fire extinguishers and the batteries in your smoke detector.
