We can make each moment of every day sacred, whether or not it is a special holiday or feast day. This was the practice of the ancestors who found ways to ritualize and make sacred very act they undertook. Here is an excerpt from a Scottish prayer that was recited upon arising each morning:
Bless my body and my soul Bless my heart and my speech Bless my belief and my path Strength and business of morning Force and wisdom of thought Bless my path 'til I sleep this night Bless each thing I see and hear Bless each ray that guides my way Each thing that I pursue I offer you love with my whole devotion I offer you affection with all of my senses I offer you worship with my whole life May I walk this day with Spirit Shielded from ill, shielded from harm Blessed by the Sacred Three. |
