| June 7-15 is the festival of Vesta, goddess of hearth and home. Her temple in Rome was tended by virgins, taking their cue from the goddess-also a virgin.
A clerihew is a four-line, humorous, biographical poem, created by E.C. Bentley, a twentieth-century English humorist. The form of these whimsical poems lends itself to spells in its brevity and may be used to honor our gods and goddesses. "The goddess Vesta often knew best, a virgin protector. Bless my home sector."
