Spell: First Birthday Spell

Many cultures honor a baby's first birth-day as a sign that the child is strong and likely to survive to adulthood. This spell both commemorates the occasion and facilitates further growth. To start, you'll need a snippet of the baby's hair, a young tree (oak or redwood are good, as they have long lifespans), and the tools to plant it. Dig a hole and drop the hair into it. Then plant the sapling, chanting:
May you drink deep of life as roots do.
May you grow tall in the Sun as shoots can.
May you live many years as this tree will.
Broad and strong, straight and true, Brave and free.
