Spell: Living Earth

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Of the four cardinal elements, earth is the most foundational. The planet Earth is our home, and the earth element is the bedrock that provides stability to our lives and keeps our feet, physically and metaphorically, on the ground.
Spend a day (or longer) focusing deeply on your connection to the earth element. Dress in natural fibers and colors, and go barefoot if you're able to. Carry obsidian, malachite, and turquoise in your pockets-stones powerfully associated with earth and grounding. Taking a lawn chair, a blanket or umbrella (if needed), and a copy of one of Henry David Thoreau's or John Muir's works, go to a quiet outdoor location and sit quietly, becoming familiar with the place and letting its scents, sounds, and sights slip into you. Read from your book, feeling the connection with Earth and earth. Speak aloud:

"Earth, I am your protector."
