Spell: Honor the Darkness

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Samhain, or Hallows, is only two days away. We're approaching the final harvest of the year, the true beginning of winter. It's getting darker earlier each day. Contrary to religious and superstitious propaganda, darkness is not bad. If we didn't have shadows, we'd walk into walls and be one-dimensional, very boring people. If we read good books to attain "enlightment," we can also do good rituals to attain "endarkenment."
As you get ready for Samhain, clean your house. Now set up a dark altar with indigo candles and perhaps Cards I, XIII, and XX from your tarot deck. Buy or order glowin-the-dark Fimo (polymer clay), and create a small glow-in-the-dark goddess, who can look a little like the Woman of Willendorf. Make her fat and healthy, and inscribe chevrons or a labyrinth on her. Attach her to a silken cord, and hang her in a window or wear her as a necklace.
